SIGGRAPH Selects “Birth of Planet Earth” Excerpt For 2019 Electronic Theater

“Photosynthesis in a Chromotaosphere,” a sequence in the Spitz fulldome show Birth of Planet Earth, has been selected to screen at SIGGRAPH’s Electronic Theater, Monday, July 29. Hundreds of short films are submitted to this prestigious program each year, with only a handful selected for the event.

The SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival celebrates computer graphics as a medium for storytelling in animation, visual effects, games, and more. The event is recognized as a qualifying festival by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and several works that were originally presented in this program have received Best Animated Short Academy Awards.
